The shortest distance from a point to a line is perpendicular to that line. Does that make sense? If you cross streets at crosswalks, then generally it does. We use slopes, the distance formula, and possibly the Pythagorean Theorem to uncover distances. Fun energy today, in summer school of all places! YAY MATH!
